Thieves and Kings News!

Okay! This is where I'll put news and tidbits about Thieves and Kings that I beg, borrow, steal, cajole, or otherwise acquire from any even semi-legitmate source. As before input is appreciated.

• October 14, 2000 There's a discussion list for T&K on eGroups called ThievesAndKings. If you're interested in talking about this fine piece of work, go sign up!
• February 17, 1999 I've reworked the site to include CSS, a easier-to-read font (Georgia), pulled scads of HTML errors out of the pages, and probably introduced a few more. Hopefully pages that are related to each other will have a more uniform look now, but I'm not going to bet the farm on it. Anyway, things that have been bugging me for years (front page graphic) are now taken care of. Yay!
• January 18, 1999 Lots of new stuff at the T&K site! Comic strips that'll appear on the first three pages of the new issue! And the announcement of the Wayward Tour '99! M'Oak, along with Tara Tallan (GALAXION) and Greg Beetam (XENO'S ARROW)! Planned stops are MegaCon (Florida, March 5-7), Hero's Con (Charlotte, NC, June 18-20), San Diego Comicon (August 12-15), Canadian National Comic Book Expo (Toronto, August 27-29), and SPX (Bethesda MD, Sept 17-19). Woo-hoo!
• November 15, 1998 Starting with the next issue (#25) The price of T&K goes up 15 cents. Personally, I'm more than willing to cough up the extra dime and nickel if it keeps T&K around. :-)
• September 3, 1998 M'Oak will be at the University of New Brunswick (that'd be in Canada) the 17th - 18th of September, opening a gallery of cartoon art and giving some lectures. Information on what he talks about would be gratefully appreciated (much as I like his stuff, I can't quite drop everything and cross borders to see it for myself). :-)
• November 3rd, 1997 M'Oak now has an email address.
• September 20th, 1997 - Contest! Here's the scoop, Mark is holding a 3 page comics contest. Anyone of any age can enter, as long as they're not a "professional" -- someone who primarily makes their living off of writing or drawing. Any story in any artistic style is welcome, as long as it's in black and white, and 2-dimensional. Include your name, age, address, and telephone number so you can be contacted if you win! First prize is $300, second prize is $200, and third prize is $100. The deadline is January 28, 1998, entries mailed to:

  Entries are judged by an assortment of Toronto writers and artists, and will be judged on quality and effectiveness of art in communicating a given story, and the quality of the writing. Entrant's ages will be taken into account. Hop to it!
• September 9th, 1997 - According to Charles LePage's New Comic Book Release List T&K #18 will be out this Wednesday, September 10th! Hoo-ah!
• August 9th, 1997 - M'Oak and Tara Jenkins of Galaxion will be doing a signing at Now and Then Books on October 18, 1997 for its 26th anniversary.
• June 15, 1997 - M'Oak will be at the Chicago Comicon, which is from July 4th-6th at the Rosemont Convention Center!
• April 21, 1997 - M'Oak says that #17 should be a much "denser" issue, with the ration of text pages to panel-to-panel pages coming in around 3:1. He spent some extra time polishing the script for the issue, and is quite pleased with it. However, due to that extra time, and three other delaying factors (huge mailing campaign, the cover for the upcoming TPB, and food poisoning), it'll be coming out a little later than usual -- around the end of the cover month. Look for it! Get a copy for a friend! It's the beginning of a new story arc! The dream garden! Heath! Rubel! The two plotlines swirl and merge together! Exclamation points!
• Febrary 2, 1997 - The two appearances that seem definate at this point that M'Oak will be attending are:

  Also, M'Oak has been approached by Disney about a possible animated television series. All I can say is "Wowsers." Latest news is that this has been nixed, from M'Oak's end.
