The below information ONLY applies to customers who use Widomaker's High Speed aDSL service. Other customers including dialup users are not affected. The following information was sent to all Widomaker High Speed aDSL account holders...
We are deploying a new DSL network. We anticipate this new DSL network will deliver a faster, more robust Internet connection. As we make this change, each of you will experience a brief outage. Please accept my apologies in advance.
We anticipate a majority of these outages will occur between 5th and 7th of May, however due to the nature of this deployment some users may experience the outage prior to these dates. We apologize for the relative short notice but we believe these changes are necessary and will benefit all of our DSL customers.
The transition to this new DSL network will require some minor modifications (described below) in the settings for your DSL login and e-mail program.
These changes must be made as soon as possible (right away) to avoid service issues.
Please note: None of the changes below will change your actual email address or username with Widomaker.
The new DSL network we are setting up requires the use of your DSL phone number followed by "@value.net" as your DSL login name. Your password will stay the same. So if the phone number for your DSL line is (757)555-1212 and your username is 'ben_loyall' (or ben_loyall@widomaker.com) you will simply change the entry for 'username' in your DSL connection software or router from ben_loyall (or ben_loyall@widomaker.com) to 7575551212@value.net (note: only numbers).
Customers who use routers to share their Internet connection with multiple computers (or wireless computers) will need to login to their router and change the DSL (PPPoE) username that the router uses to login to the Internet. This will allow their router to continue connecting properly. See this web page for examples (you may want to print the instructions):
http://weblog.widomaker.com/dsl-connect-change/
Customer's who purchased a D-Link router from Widomaker can contact D-Link (1.877.453.5465), Widomaker directly (757-253-7621 or 757-224-9436), or a local computer technician if they need help changing the DSL (PPPoE) username in their router. Customers using other routers can contact the support office for their brand of router or contact a local computer technician for help logging into their router and changing the DSL (PPPoE) username. A list of local computer technicians can be found here:
http://weblog.widomaker.com/local-computer-shops/
The new DSL network will also require a change in your outgoing SMTP e-mail server settings. You will need to change your outgoing (or SMTP) server to "dsl.smtp.widomaker.com" (no quotes).
For online instructions and screenshots on how to make these changes within Widomaker supported e-mail applications, please click on the following link (you may want to print the instructions):

During the transition to the new DSL network, there will be a brief outage while your line is transitioned. Unfortunately, each line is done individually and therefore we can not predict when your specific DSL line will be moved. We do anticipate that these outages will be quite brief in duration. You will most likely have to turn your DSL modem and/or router off and back on to reestablish your connection.
Once again, please accept my apologies for this interruption in service.
We do feel that this will lead to a more enjoyable Internet experience here at Widomaker.
As always, if there are any questions you may have about this change, or need clarification or assistance, please do not hesitate to give us a call at (757)253-7621 or (757)224-9436. You can also visit our web page for news, updates, and instructions...
Thank you again for choosing Widomaker!
